So whats been happening the browns best run on the Taupo rivers in years wit hregulat 6 -7 pounders coming in fro mthe Tongariro and its cousin the TT firing like no body's wit hbow's of up to 6lb coming in apparently this is one of the best runs in the taupo rivers in 9 years we went up two weeks ago and can confirm she is firing! as for th local welly rivers thr Ruamahanga has seen migrating sea runners to 7lbs and nice bows up to 4lbs the hutt looks fit for the new seasona nd is open all year i took one nice 4lb out a month ago in cracking condition. So Fishraiders if your doing a winter trip to NZ for trout gethere it's all on! PM if you need any info guys and gals! Cheers Royce. arpie
Sounds exciting, Royce!! My last fish in the Tongariro had the runners of my rod icing up & having to dip it in the water to melt them so that the line would shoot!! I caught a couple of nice fish tho! I hear there has been the best mice plague in NZ's history for quite a while (but assume it is in the south island rather than the north??) Shame about the howling southerlies!! Cook St is still one of the most dangerous waters to cross when it gets ugly!!! Don't forget to put any pics up of the BIG trout that you catch!! See ya Roberta
