Time To Do A Little Maintenance

Hi all

As many of our boats do not get used alot over the colder months of the year.

I just thought i would put a reminder out there of doing a little maintenance

if you do it now you can take your time, rather then rush it when fishing time is needed.

we all know in spring to get things repaired or get parts is very hard

ie

*wheel bearings maybe? You know when its time to look stop putting it off

*check/clean battery terminals

*keep batteries charged (so no sulfation due to non charge)and will be ready for when decide to hook it on the tow bar.

*lubing of pivot points

*check that there is no line in or under the prop. regrease the spline once replaced

*spray some lube on steering arms (so you don,t have a seized steering arm).

*trailer lights been playing up have a look it maybe a simple fix.

*Maybe do one of those jobs you thought about but put it off as the fishing has been to good.

regards

johnno

PS-:it is always easier to do it in a garage rather then on the water.

As water time is fishing time

Great reminder, while i've been off due to ankle surgery i've had bearings/hubs replaced and even got new jockey wheel, the guy took old bearings out and you could smell a burn smell and the grease was grey, I'm glad I had them done now haha.

Also sorted out tackle bags etc, got rid of unwanted stuff in boat also.....Things you do when you can't get out fishing haha.

Cheers,

Leo
