Hi raiders,

I came across this finder Furuno LS 4100 Fishfinder - No Transducer

I am just wondering how does this model work if their is no transducer, bacause the only reason i havn't bought one yet is that i am worried about drilling my transom.

Thanks

It doesnt work without a transducer. Thats why its so cheap. Other boating supply shops sell that model for over $400 WITH the transducer. Obviously those blokes sell it separatley. It definetly needs a transducer, an Airmar P66 infact. I know coz i have that same model sounder on my boat- drilled into the transom even :)

if u are worried about installing it your self u should pay someone to do it for u. the sonar will only work if u have a transducer every sonar needs one and they are all attachted to the transom so sooner or later u will have to do it, :1prop:

if your boat is Fibre Glass you can install the transducer inside the Hull but it will not go through aluminium, I have not tried this method so cant recomend it as I've always had aluminium boats. installing externaly to alloy is not hard at all its only FEAR of drilling through your hull. with the right advice you will wonder what you were fussing about. I have now done 2 of my boats and both were new boats at the time of install.
