Boat Insurance

I was wondering who everyone is using for boat insurance?

I am only after Third Party - i rang Sunway and they told me $174/year with a $500 excess, and i did a quote on Club Marine's website and it came back $294/year and a $500 excess. I then did a comprehensive quote with them and the yearly fee of $294 was the same but only a $100 excess. How could the excess be less for comprehensive. Im guessing something was wrong with the quote. And i was told Club Marine is the best to go with but so far they have been the most expensive.

Mate, stay with FULL comprehensive insurance - it ain't that expensive - and I personally am insured with Club Marine - they understand boats - unlike other companies.

I Agree with Tuffy

your boat may be only worth $6000 but lets say for exsample you forget to lift motor and reverse into a steep driveway... new leg on your motor could be worth thousands. this come to mind as I once met a guy at the boat ramp that had done just that.

as for what company CALL them I priced around and for my boat it varried between $600 & $800 I took the more expansive (Nautilas) after they dropped the price $100 and pointed out what extra's they cover.

I have taken out comprehensive with NRMA as the home and contents are with them.

$22000 agreed value for $500 a year (inc. waterskiers) and $200 excess.

Club Marine was a little more but only if you chose the $500 excess..

TC.
