BFB
I am hoping someone will be able to help me. I have purchased a GME GX600D VHF radio for my boat. It has a feature where it can send GPS co-ordinates if it is connected to a GPS Unit. My GPS unit is a Humminbird 788ci combination unit. Will the GPS part of the radio work if it is connected to the Humminbird. Any help would be appreciated.
Catchin Jack
Have you checked the user manual for what you need for it to send GPS location? From what I read in user manual it needs stand alone GPS reciever or a chart plotter that is compatible with unit. Pages 3,15 & 16 The GX600D is Garmin Chartplotter compatible allowing the bonus safety benefitof GPS interface, for display and tracking of location. finin
Fezza, dont forget DSC does not work here no coast radio station is equiped to use it. Also the comparison between different radios in the ability to receive DSC from other brand radios is almost non existent.
