Aladin83
Gday all, Well checked seabreeze yesterday and knew it would be a good day to chase the old black drummer at my favourite spot. Before I had even burleyed up I had caught these three beauties! woohoo. Anyways it was time to go as my spot is fairly hard to get to and i didna want to carry anymore back! Al. Jewdreamer
Well done champ! Don't they go hard and so good to eat if you treat em right and eat em fresh! best feed you can get in the winter months. Onya Buddy Chris
Day's Fishin
Good drummer Aladin. I used to fish for blackfish & drummer a little way past the murk in the 70's when I lived at Bondi. Majority of the drummer were caught on cungi, is that what you used? The mens Bogey hole also fished ok after a prolonged period of rough seas. This is the rock pool just around past the mermaids. They go extremely hard, I can't beleive how hard they fight for there size, I had to upgrade my setup when I first found this spot as my little whiting rod&reel stood no chance! As for eating, I think they're one of the best out there, all i do is put a few cuts through the flesh, coat in a few spices and lots of lemon juice, wrap in foil that has been coated in olive oil, in the oven for 40 mins and Voila! Best feed there is IMO!

Regards Jeff Thanks Jeff, I caught these pigs on prawns!! I used to use Cunji when I was a Kid but ever since they have brought in the no collection Zones I have been a little unsure as to where I can and can't collect so I just decided to stop using Cunji altogether. The Mens Bogey Hole is one of my favourite spots, I think this is the Area my little brothers call Splash Canyon... Last time I went there I was only pulling in throwback's so i decided i needed to take a trip to what I refer to as "Madmans Rock", which I always have found in the right conditions will pull in a decent feed. for obvious reasons, I will not be providing further details to this place. LOL I know the spot you are talking about past the Murk, Unfortunately the ladder down to the Murk has completely rusted out, so it is pretty much inaccessible at the moment. I have written to council to try and get them to erect a sign stating that the ladder is rusted out, as people may still try to climb down not realising! which is a worry! As yet another fisherman died there a few weeks ago I doubt that anyone would be replacing it in such a hurry. As you would know, the murk can be a dangerous spot at the best of times. Why people choose to go to places like these in such appaling conditions worries and concerns me. Regards, Al. Aladin83
nice catch Alladin i was also at bondi yesterday morning managed to get 5 pigs 4 blurters using bread biggest pig was 3.2kg back at home by 8 good little session suprising that theres no blackfish around. I always use bread for burley but no matter what i do i can never get it to hold on my hook, seems to always fall off. I was out from about 10:30 till 12:30, so i guess i missed you, saw some other guy setting up around from were i was fishing when i was leaving, had a chat and wished him luck as there seemed to be plenty around.... The big two did seem pretty heavy, know idea of the weight but maybe i'll get something so I can weigh em next time... As for Luderick i don't think they go for prawns as much as drummer do but i usually get more in spring than i do this time of year. I don't use weed either and this is what most ppl tell me is the best bait to catch them... Edited June 27, 2010 by Aladin

Aladin83
this time of the year they are going for cabbage getting busted up a lot while fishing for blackies peter Peter, My Girlfriend lives in Collaroy so I am up your way a fair bit. I find myself coming back to Bondi to fish as I know the area a lot better. Anywhere you can recommend that I might have a chance of getting on to some pigs up your way?
