Bentstik
You can try spraying some release agent around the area to see if it frees it. If not try and knock the shaft out of the housing using a hammer and peice of wood on the end so you don't damage the shaft, what normmally happens is the grease goes hard in the housing and locks the steering rod. Good luck Cheers Silvo - Bentstik
a boat
Hi, if you have isolated the engine and steering system by removing the drag link and the engine turns freely then yes problem is with the steering system. it will be a faultyu cable, helm or the cable is seized in the tilt tube of the outboard and if you have a transom that allows you to remove the cable from the tilt tube easily not a huge job to remove, unless it is badly frozen in there. Some hulls you need to remove the engine to allow enough access to get the steering cable out and that becomes a bigger job. As mentioned be careful if you hut the end of the steering cable so as to not mushroom the end of the cable becasue you will need a new one then and most likely not be able to get thru the tilt tube. Cheers, Huey.
