achilles
Hi all, Just wondering if anyone can help. Been struggling to find squid in the bay. Ive heard that bare island can produce some but where on bare island??? Im fishing from a boat.... Also fished the peak on sunday. We could see plenty of fish on the sounder on the edges of the reef but no takers on live baits or jigs. Knot failure saw us lose 1 fish. Came back in to the bay and fished the drums for some flathead and plenty of tailor. sorry no picks. After hearing about all the leather jackets at the offshore reefs i was hoping to at least get a feed but did not see any at the peak. Didnt even lose a jig. Jewdreamer
Try the kelp beds around the channel between the island and the bridge
dhype
Hi There Squid is a bit hard to get atm in Botany, I tried for over 1 hour last weekend without a single hit at Bare Island and near the kelp bed over at the beach.. it is normally pretty good in these locations. I noticed the water in the above areas was extremely clear and this could be why the squid have been a bit shy.. hope you have better luck next time out Regards DHYPE
