zen801
Hi raiders, Bit of a late report but went out with the kids on Friday. Got to the ramp at rosie and while stuffing around at the pontoon we watched the biggest school of mullet cruise past. It was absolutely massive and they were in the thousands. You gotta think that a school of that size is going to attract some predators. Fished for awhile in MH but nothing much doing other than bream and trevs. Had some livies down but they were taken by leatheries or squid. We got bored so cruised out to Middle Head and surrounds but it was a bit lumpy for the kids until we heard a big splash by the side of the boat. Looked over to see a pod of dolphins cruising alongside the boat. We drifted around and followed them for awhile as always an amazing sight to see them. They were feeding off middle head and there was quite a few small ones in the mix. Kids loved it. After that it got cold and we were outta there. Cheers

Cheers Hey Zenman watching Dolphins are a top experience, sometimes even better than catching fish- esp when they are that close to your boat. What a top day out for you and the kids- I bet they were almost beside themselves some Dolphins are real characters- we usually see pods of them around Shoalhaven when we go on the charters in November and also the Humpback Whales make an appearance. Always a great sight and make for some top piccies when they go all earial on ya That would have been a great experience, I've seen dolphins off the rocks at Avoca and that was great but being able to follow them would have been awesome. as for the Mullett thats a good sign and chances are if they are in numbers around middle harbour they may be in sydney harbour and upper reaches of parra river also may change my choice of bait this weekend to mullet and see if that works. Regards, Nathan Hey Nath, thats a great idea, if you can get some Poddy's either on a hook or in a trap get some they make excellent butterflied baits and slabs are nice n meaty. I'm going to try and trap some this arvo around high tide at my spot on LCR (you know the one...) for tomorrow on the beaches- I am hearing some good reports of some far off distant place the other side of the Hawkesbury is producing nice sized School Jew in big numbers on the sand and BIG Salmon ATM all on Pillies and Squid strips. Hopefully we can organise a trip up there late in August when the weather gets a bit warmer Anyway mate I'll flick ya a PM in the next coupla weeks we'll get Johnny and my mate Clinton to make the trek up that way see whats doing. Cannot wait for tomoz session with Johnny on Nthn Beaches Im itching to get out later lads Tight lines Anthony
