hey guys,

just moved to newcastle with my little tinny and am looking at doing some fishing in the lake. have heard plenty of good stories and im just wondering on some areas to find some fish. want to try and chase some jew and kingies. is there anywhere in the lake to get slimys or other livebaits? and good places to spin for flaties and bream?

cheers John

don't get to many spots in the lake for lives, never slimes. i get livies at blakies reef out the front of blacksmith surf club. as for spots drop over or bridge is a good start for kings, need to wait for the water to warm up though

At the moment if you want to spin for bream and flatties the southern end is the way to go with warmer water temps

I got a nice feed for my nanna a month ago drifting and throwing plastics in around 6m of water off sandy beach 3 nice bream a legal reddie and a nice flattie around 50cm in just over an hours work is fun and really impressed her too :biggrin2:

Im defiantly her favorite grandchild at the moment thats for sure :074:

You can get livies off Swansea, just in front of Blacksmiths surf club, there's a reef system in front of it, line up the surf club and end of breakwall and watch the sounder, not hard to miss.

Some big jew have been known to be caught around this area, just be careful with swells as it has been known to get swamped by rogue waves if swell is up.

Cheers,

Leo
