scotty1856
Hi all I was thinking of moving my fuel tank in my tinny to the front but not sure if there is a reason not to as I can not remember seeing this done before it maybe that i have not looked hard enough. rickb
I have always found they are better on r's end, close to motor, out of the way,U don't want fuel anywhere near your catch, also no trouble with fumes. Cheers Rick.

scotty1856
Thanks Rick and Mick As i spend all my time at the stern and have most of my gear down there i wanted to free up some space and spread the load out a bit as i have plenty of room up front under the bow. I just haven't seen any front mounted tanks
rickb
Hey Scotty, I don't think you would want a tank of fuel, upfront getting shit belted out of it on a close chop,in the middle or back would be ok.
tuffy
Scotty, I had my 30 ltr and 12 ltr spare up front when my boat was tiller steer with no problems whatsoever. It did help to balance the weight.Ran a long fuel line under the floor through a length of 35mm PVC pipe, but secured with cable ties to prevent unecessary wear etc. Remember if you do decide to do this it is probably a good idea to have a bulb pump at the front to prime the line as well as one down the back to prime the motor. Cheers, Tuffy.

Thanks Tuffy i was spoilt with bigger boats around the six meter mark in the past before heading to the bush for a spell now back after 9 years and have had to adjust to a 4 meter tiller steer tinny, bit small but hey Im out there. I think i will give it a go as one of my boys I fish with has special needs and i need him close to me so the ballast at the front would make things better.
