The Mulloway. One of the most sought after species of fish that we target. im new to jewie fishing and am keen to learn more that will improve results. im yet to land one but have a feeling that will soon be changing.i mainly fish in the hawkesbury and pittwater but havent really specifically targeted them. all you guys that have the knowledge already it would be really appreciated if you could give me some tips:rigs, bait, gear, lures and anything else that is relevant.

few tips from a novice jew hunter

i usually try and sound a area through the day and fish it throughout the day to find what fish are there bait ect then i usually take note of how much water movement there is, structure of the floor eg caves rocks and dropoffs. then i usually take fresh squid with me at night and catch the bait around that area and put out 4 rods and fish both tides which even is most active eg runs big hits i write in a diary and try the same spot again and again till i achieve a fish some times u will get multiple fish sometimes none, took me about 6months to land my first jew by my self my grandpa used to catch one nearly everynight in foster at his water front and was lucky to learn all my knowledge from him.

I used to fish for jews alot when i lived in sydney but same rules apply if fishing for jews anywhere fresh bait is a must live squid live yakka or slimey or strips of either but must be fresh.Used to get them around the 8 day period of the fullmoon 4 days befor 4 days after with the 4 days after being more productive but also the new moon as well its about water movement thats what i think people might say different. One of the best spots was clarks point some reason they travel up there at certain times of year were jan to may but like all good jewman you have to put the hours in but when you get that big one its worth it.

Also, what sort of outfit is suitable for jewie fishing mainly down near bar pt, the bridges, the vines and milson island.eg:rod, reel, line, leader, hooks, sinkers etc.

Any other info on these spots or others would be fantastic
