njg02
Hi all. I've seen a few posts about people losing anchors. Others say they zip tie the chain chain to the shank so they can easily retrieve it. I'm having trouble visualising this zip tie stuff so was hoping someone could post pics or a graphic of how this is done. Thanks Neil
Geoff
Neil The normal tie off location is as per this photo. My understanding of "zip tie" is the rope is attached near the prongs , then runs along the shank & is held in place by cable ties , the idea being the rope pulls from the normal position but if pulled in the opposite direction the cable ties break & the anchor is released. There is an anchor available that has a ring which can move along the shank allowing the anchor to be pulled from either direction. http://www.biasboating.com.au/p-934-slip-ring-fishermans-anchors.aspx Geoff
njg02
Thanks Geoff. I have just bought a Super Sarca but haven't used it yet. So I geuss I don't need the cable ties. I thought that I still had to do something to not lose it. I suppose I should have read the blurb a bit closer.
