Decent Boat Hire

G'Day Raiders,

Was thinking of shouting the old man a day on the water for his :1happybday: and wanted to pick your brains on a suitable boat hire place.

Want to go in a bit if comfort, so not interested in a tinny. A half cabin or something with a bit of size would be ideal. I don't have a boat licence, and not really interested in a charter.

I know there are hire places at Brooklyn, and I think there is one at Abbotsford, but has anyone had any experience in hiring a decent-ish boat? Have hired tinny's from Brooklyn, but can't remember if they have anything bigger there.

Anywhere in the Hawkesbury or Harbour/Middle Harbour areas would be great. Any names/numbers would be appreciated

Cheers

Simon

There is a reason why tinnies are the hire boat of choice wherever you go. They are underpowered and dont exceed the speed limit for unlicenced skippers. I would be surprised if there would be anyone that would hire you a "decent" boat without a licence for two reasons, insurance requirements and more onportantly they want the craft to come back in one piece.

As an example, would you hire your car out to someone you dont know who doesnt have a drivers licence?

Best shot might be to save up and go out with someone like no no no or if you cant afford that you could try and link up with a boat owner through desperate and boatless.

My views only.

Thanks to all for the info, but MH, take a chill pill!!! Used to have a licence, but when the old man sold his boat a while back, let it lapse. I know what you're on about though.

Been out with MacGill before, caught some great kingies, but more interested in a relaxing day, putt-putting around wherever we want to go.

The BBQ boat at Brooklyn looks a goer - plenty of room - thanks Bash.

Thanks for the suggestions  Will keep Des in mind next time we want to go out on a charter.
