andrew399 Posted September 14, 2010 Share Posted September 14, 2010 Hey mate, no they are not protected, yes you would get a fair bit of meat off them but I have never heard of anyone that has kept them and too be honest I wouldnt bother... Penguin Posted September 14, 2010 Share Posted September 14, 2010 I had a mate on my boat keep one a few years back, he reckoned it tasted like absolute cr#p, worst fish he has ever tried, Hes released every single one he has caught since. steze Posted September 16, 2010 Share Posted September 16, 2010 Port Jacksons are nice to eat i only keep 1 if i aint caught nothin for dinner towards the end of the day because are a major pain to clean and skin. You can skin them and boil them in chunks or fry skinless fillets in batter.
