hottyscotty
PE = PolyEthylene In other words, its just braided line
pjbink
It's usually folled by a number. If you multiply by 10 you will get the breaking strain in pounds. Eg PE5 is 50lb braided line.

hottyscotty
They've all got the same diameter. If they all follow the Japanese standard, the number that follow PE represents the diameter of the braid not the breaking strain. Ie. PE5 has a diameter of 0.369mm, PE6 is 0.404mm etc An example is YGK Jigman and YGK Jigman X8. Normal Jigman PE6 breaks at 70lb whilst the X8 PE6 breaks at 87lb. They both have same diameter.
