Kayak Fishing

Hi raiders

I am keen to get a kayak for fishing mainly rivers/calm waterways. I am hoping to not spend any more than $500 which probably limits options quite a bit but oh well. Does anyone have any suggestions for kayaks which are great for fishing and under this price?

I bought a fishing kayak recently - a moken 12 from feelfree - so had been doing a bit of research on brands/prices. For $500 i reckon you'll be looking at the second hand market. You can get a new one for $500 but at that price the quality ain't great. If you go second hand do a search of some specialised kayak fishing websites, they often have dedicated posts for sales.

Good advice and the mokens are a really nice yak ..$500 dosnt give u much option but u could get lucky . have a look also at the main onsite auction web site as u could get lucky .

you will need something with enough room to take a bit of takle with u as well .

i also reakon the sit on yaks are better than the sit in yaks as they are self draining and better for fishing .

It is under 20kg and easy to handle solo

BCF have them on special in your price range

great little kayak, realy stable good fishing platform.
