ALI-G
Caught these two on Saturday morning. Rose Bay on fresh squid. Lost what felt to be a much larger animal due to a pulled circle hook right at the boat! Will head out again this weekend...............Summer is arriving early me thinks!! Started at 7am, managed only one large live squid (so had to chop it up), hooked both of them within 5 mins of each other around 9:30am Edited September 27, 2010 by ALI-G

Just a ball sinker and 40lb flourocarbon leader with a 7/0 mutu lightwire circle hook a couple of handle turns off the bottom.
slayer666
How big is the ball sinker u were using? Cheers Joe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
stefan
2 save the poster sum trouble, in general for harbour fishing you wanna use a sinker as light as the current would allow. That means heavier in mid tide and light wen ur at the top or the bottom. If ur near the turn of the tide and have a rather large squid on sometimes you dont even need any weight or maybe just a really small ball sinker. the largest i go is around size 6-7.
