Cracking Hacking Again

Hi raiders, went out again today with my Brother John, His come up from Tassie for the Grand Final.

we got to the ramp 8am and straight out the heads, Bonito everywhere, we kept 14 and used a couple for bait and decided thats enough, realesed about 30 of them, went to the Flathead drifting grounds and found it tough, had to move around a fair bit to find them, ended up with 6 nice models.

We then headed to a reef spot for bottom bash but was very Quite today, we ended up with a couple of leather jackets and I was onto another top Squid, felt then looked bigger than my last model of 89cm :1yikes: but sadly I lost him :thumbdown:

wasn't complaining, it was Quality time with my Brother.

The weather ruffed us up a bit but we weren't giving up :thumbup:

Last Tuesday fishing, BBQ every night this week, Fishing today and Grand Final Sunday, Man Ive got dizzy spell :wacko:

Better than me as all I could get the family to do is take a drive out to Solander for a look & it lokked a bit sloppy. I did see a few boats out there. You can have a ball with those Bonnies when they are that thick . They are great on the BBQ Filleted & brushed with olive oil . Good to see you got into them .

Conditions looked pretty average.

We couldn't find a bonito last Friday for love nor money. Just one tailor and two salmon. I'm not that keen on eating bonito, but we found that they're not bad smoked. We usually keep half of them for smoking and the other half to be filleted and salted for bait.

A few nice flatties there too, but a shame you lost that big squid. :(

well done mate some decent fish caught for another bbq! :biggrin2: seen u at taren point must of been heading home i couldnt miss your boat as im always perving on boats as they drive past :1prop:

so were abouts do you live.

Great report Groper. I love using my brothers visits to Sydney most Christmases as an excuse for more fishing.

Do you do those Bonito on the BBQ?

BBQ, or filleted debone, lemon pepper seasoning and fry them :thumbup:

People underestimate Bonito, they are nice to eat and great bate.

Cheers peters, the Bonito were everywhere, i was actually trying to get away from them in the end.

You got dizzy spells alright... didn't any one tell you that bonito was top bait, at least keep your quota and fillet them for your bait... anyway well done again and we might just have to do a trip to Tassie one day. Cheers George.

Tassi trip is on for sure.
