Hi all,

i just got back from 10 days up on the sunshine coast. I just love it up there and the fishing is normally very good.

First off we stayed in noosa for 5 nights. The weather wasn't great at all and this certainly affected the fishing. I was off to the doctor on the first afternoon and this turned out to be a bummer when i was told that it couldn't get wete for two weeks. This didn't stop me from fishing though. We had a big fat zero on the first attempt out at the mouth before getting a couple of tiny 12cm ish moses perch from behind the sheraton. We also landed an unexpected big mud crab which grabed the prawn as it was being lifted out of the water. We let him go because we didn't have many cooking facilities and are unsure of how to prepare them. Anyway next we tried the mouth again and this time we managed a 22 cm butter bream and a 25cm yellowfin bream. For tyhe next day we were booked in for a river fishing trip but the weather had other ideas. We only caught 1 20 cm bream and a very very small trumpeter. We didn't feel to bad because nothing much else was caught except a few undersize bream and flathead aswell as a big 1.5m shovelnose.

I had been told that the fishing at night behind the shearaton was very productive so i gave it a go. No luck though i did get busted up by some monster bream. An finally on our last morning in noosa i got up very early and tried the sheraton again. Only a 25cm cod though. I was busted off buy a few rippers. Something nicked my rig and took about 10m of line in 3 seconds before snapping me off. i also brought in a 4 or 5 inch dohhh prawn on my baited hook. Chucked it on and flicked it under the bridge and first cast something bit grapped it and muscled me around for 10 seconds or so before i pulled the hooks on him. Main suspect was probably a monster jack.

When we wre in coolum i only had one crack for about 45 min off the beach with the rsorts hire rods and worms but the well was too much and it was being pulled in closer by every wave.

Very slow for noosa standards but there's always next time.
