Raiders, raiders, I'm excited.

Got my new Lowrance HDS7 last week, fitted it up Saturday and went out Sunday to play.

Absolutely brilliant unit-------- just got to learn how to drive the bloody thing now. More complex than the X515, which incidentally is on the market for sale.(Refer Swap & Sell with reduced price)

Do Lowrance hold study workshops????

Cheers, Tuffy.

Hi Tuffy,

Dont know about workshops, but they do 'emulators' which you can download onto your PC and play around with. I note that the HDS 7 doesnt yet have an emulator, but maybe one of the other ones is a close match and you could try that...?

On a happier note, I see that they have one for my x102c, so I'm downloading that for myself!

Stop worrying everybody !!!!!!! I've mastered it.

3 hours yesterday on the bench, fiddling and entering all my waypoints from my handheld etc and I am now fully up to speed with this unit.

Thanks to Fryboy and Framedtrash for your advices etc.

Cheers, Russ.

just incase you want some info on lowrance sounders in particular

buy a dvd / book called

depth sounder secrets by rick huckstepp

the guide is based on lowrance sounders but applies to all recommended settings/actions etc

Thanks Shadda, I've got it, but I think it's probably getting a little bit out of date with these new digital sounders. Basics are the same though, and you're right, it is a good reference book to have.
