Simple Truths
Am asking for one of these for Christmas. Think I can get my wife to pay for approx 1/3! Current price seems to be approx $2400 so a third from her pocket makes it that little bit more desirable! Is it worth it - what is the general view? I do not have a gps on the boat, other than my tiny hand held Garmin, which makes navigating not so easy in anything more than a gentle swell. The Sounder GPS combo idea sounds good to me. Main issues are:: 1. Are they easy to use? 2. How much power do they draw down (only got one cranking battery on the boat)? 3. Is the definition on the screen all its cracked up to be? Any help / views / guidance appreciated JOC
a boat
Hi JOC, short answer yes they are worth it and the bigger the screen the better the pixel count and clarity. No problems with only a single battery and yes they are simple to use, but like anything the more you use one the better you will get at "driving" it. Contact me if you would like the Raide price and only problem with them is stock is very short supply and I am waiting on HDS-5 and HDS-7s at the moment. Cheers. Huey.
