Could I Tow A Tube On A 70Hp

could i tow a tube on a 16ft fibreglass boat with a 70hp 2 stroke outboard

Hi, hard to answer without knowing how heavy the people are, but why not try it and see. That said yes if propped right that engine would have enough torque to pull a tube.

had kneeboarder who weighed 110kg get pulled behind a 4.1 and a 50hp four banger and that was a in water start

also tubed behind a 4.4 with a 40hp 2stoke

i would have to say you would be fine and have fun

Get towed on The Albys 470DF Haines with 70hp Johnson on the back and he nearly kills me when putting me into a whip.

70 hp and 16 foot will be fine and if you need to go faster that that you better hang on tight.

I have pulled my mate up on his surf board and he was 100kls,with my old evenrude and three people in the boat and it 15 foot half cabin,once there plaining you could almost have a 5 horse...

Should not be a problem,I have a 4.8 Allycraft with a Yam 70 2stroke and that pulls two tubes all day no problems.
