ok so mid next year i am looking to get a bream/bass boat and i am confused as to what flavour.

I want a 17-18 ft,

4-5 people,

115-150

and a tournie layout ie rod lockers and livewell under deck storage etc.

i mainly fish bream and bass with the ocasionall muck around flathead with the kids.

i am not interested in offshore snapper shananigans or the like.....not that there is anything wrong with that.

i have up to 40k and am thinking....

stratos 275 xl

skeeter sx 180-190 evan a second hand zx

What other options are out there

what would you guys recomend

anyone got pics of there set up

thanks guys

Dan

Call Josh from Skeeter Boats (www.skeeterboats.com.au) and talk to him about Skeeter's and the Edgewater bay boats.

He also has a good idea where the pre-owned boats are for sale. Renowned for service and support.

Stratos would be the next choice. Nitro also have a presence here. There are a few Triton's around but no support in Aus now I believe. Champions, Basscats atc are available but tend to be on the pricier side.

All are similar but subtley different and its a good idea to look at as many different brands as possible to see what you want. Your issue will be seating as nearly all are 2-3 seater max.

My uncle is sellin his skeeter i think its a sx180 lol (i was only on it last weekend) he is selling it through josh aswell so he's the man to talk too

As for set up wise they have great storage and really stable even with a decent wind chop

but i think with anyboat in your price range you will be happy with what you get

Your problem will be the 4-5 people in a bream boat They are usually built for two three maybe but a bit cramped when travelling

Skeeter may have something that will take 4 I know Fincraft do and a boat I have fished out of a bit does also and thats the Triton 177

As Andrew has said, your issue is going to be with the 4-5 people aboard. I have a 201 Stratos (21ft), which is bigger than most going around, and frankly, although you could fish 4 up, I wouldn't want to be doing it all the time. 3 is really about the limit. Travelling with 3 in mine is comfortable enough but 4 would be pretty much out of the question unless they were Kids.

Skeeter has a 20/21 ft fish and ski option that seats 4 comfortably enough, but you compromise on the deck space.

For that money I think you'll struggle to get anything in glass in the size you require, unless you're prepared to import yourself from the US.

Cheers, Greg
