Guest Posted December 19, 2010 Posted December 19, 2010 Thirty lb braid is plenty for jewies from the sand and a 50 to 60 lb leader will stop em no problems and you could try a 6500 bait runner as they are tough reels and have the bait runner feature which lets you free spool the bait until you get a bite ,very handy. 8/0s and 10/0s will be fine for even smallish fish in the 60cm bracket and you could snell a couple of 8/0s to fit your squid or fish baits which will give you a better chance of a hook up. Cheers Swordfisherman

Cheers Swordfisherman havent used braid before mate so i think ill stick to mono! will 30lb mono still be fine? i just thought that 8 to 10 hooks would be a bit big if ur livie was only say as long as ur hand maybe a little bigger? as i have read if the jew feels the hook he spits it out... thats y i was thinking say 5/0 to 6/0! yea im using the snell rig at the moment with 1m trace to a swivel n size 8 ball sinker! im definately going to invest in a shimano 6500 bait runner though... cheerrs for all the help guys much appreciated
