spanish
Looking for some help on finding a rod to throw some poppers, metals, sluggos around for some pelagics mainly kings from boat..I have a reel that i need to match the rod with its a 6000 size spheros already loaded with 30pd braid. Came across a t curve revolution offshore 7ft 5/10kg the other day has any one used one before? Biggest concern is that the reel may be a bit heavy for this model? theres also a 6/12kg model but its not a 2 piece which would be nice and its a bit over my budget which is $200 max. any help or ideas would be great cheers. jordan.widz
My dad bought that exact rod (t-curve revolution 5-10kg) just recently and i've used it a fair bit too, the tip is pretty soft and flicky but has plenty of power in the bottom section, the soft tip is great for absorbing big head shakes and powerful runs from kingies and you can easily launch heavy poppers and metal lures a fair distance with it. its Good for downrigging to as you can load it up easily without breaking the rubber band. Its paired with a diawa cy 4000 and seems to balance out allright. The 6000 spheros might be a little heavy for it, but when fishing for kings you need every bit of drag the reel can dish out so the larger reel should still do the job and give you a bit more confidence when fighting the fish. Cheers, Prawn Star.
Captain Spanner
What about the Shimano T-Curve King Mack Spin. I think it comes in 2 piece, is 8-12kg and is about 7ft. Its the series before the revolution series. I think they were around $340 which is way over budget but i dont know if you might find them getting cleared for cheaper somewhere for the new revolution series.
