Hey raiders,

headed out this morning to the harbour, thought i might try and get amongst the em. Was hoping to chase kings all morning as i have heard they were around at the start of the week. The water was averaging at 18C and went up to 19C at some places but not many. the Bonnito were going nuts tho, cold have chased them around all day was so much fun on the light gear, kept one for sashimi and threw the countless others back.

After mucking around with the bonnies i went to try and get either squid or yackas, tried every spot i new, and all that would show up was sweep! Spoke to a few other blokes out on the water and they had no luck either.

I was wondering if anyone else is having a hard time catching livies????

Cheers

Dave

Dave,

Yakkas have been hard of late. Once the sun is up they go deep due to so many predators.

Yeah plus one to what Mike said. You need to get on the water EARLY if you want to get your livies easily. You can still get em once the sun has come up but it can be really hard. If the sun is try going to some of the deeper water spots and set up a really thick burley slick. Sooner or later they will show up.
