Hairtail in Botany bay?

Hi all

Although it's out of season, just wondering if there are hairtail still caught in Botany Bay? I hooked one some years ago. I'd heard back then that they use to be around the end of Molix point.

I caught one at night off the Kyeemagh breakwall back in the middle of winter in the early 90's, but haven't heard much about them appearing in the Bay for many years. As you said, they were apparentaly around in the 70's and 80's in some of the deeper areas around the Ports area of the Bay.
