Guest
Met up with good mate Johnno for a try at getting him his first jewie on a soft plastic today in the Cooks River. We were fishing out of his hornet with his new I-PILOT and 80lb leccy and I know what I want for xmas now its works fantastically. We started early and it looked promising with a good hit on a big plastic and it turned out to be a PB flathead on plastics for John@ 64cms..few pics and off she swam. We pelted big plastics at every spot of have had a bite from jewies but they were absent today with only one hit and a pulled hook. We scored plenty of bream and flatties on the smaller two inch plastics again and had a great time peppering the snags on the incoming tide and went almost to Canterbury. One small mishap which didnt amuse me one bit was as I was lifting a fish and a small one at that from the water my new 1-3 rod snapped at the tip for no reason I caught a new species today as well,a BLACK BREAM which I had not seen previously in the Cooks and it put up a pretty reasonable fight for its size. Cheers Swordy Great day out with Johnno with plenty of laughs and hopefully we will get him a jewie on the next trip out.
