Aquaholic
Hi All, I have spooled one of my reels with 6lb Fireline but I cannot seem to tie the leader knot correctly. It either consistently slips out or on the odd occasion that I think I have got it right is snaps at the knot. I have read the articles at the front of Fishraider and I am copying the knot shown there, but I must be doing something wrong. Please help. Narralakes
Double uni knot is the easiest and quickest for me, most books with knots have them.
Ken A
I find the Stren the best for me. I don't have any problems tying it on or off the water & its very strong. You need to experiment a bit & find one you can tie reliably every time under fishing conditions.
ehor
I use the double uni. It occasionally slips for me, but not often. Just need to check the knot a bit more before fishing
troutboy
The stren knot is the one to use, like ken said its easy to tie in any conditions even with lines of a vastly different diametres and does not slip at all. Nothing wrong with a double uni but i find the stren knot just a little stronger connection.

Aquaholic
Thanks Guys, For all your suggestions the double Uni seems to be best for me to tie although I still need to practice? Thanks Again, Cheers
Ken A
Thanks Guys,For all your suggestions the double Uni seems to be best for me to tie although I still need to practice? You must be able to tie a knot properly when your out on the water. Practice makes perfect & strong knots are bloody important. If the double Uni suits you & you are happy with the strength of the knot YOU tie stick with it.
wakd
Aqua, make sure you are doing enough wraps, I use the Stren knot and do 5-7 in the leader and 10-13 in the fireline. If you are doing a uni I would use the same numbers. HTH, Ben.
