Hey all gotta say i've been reading posts on this site for some time and have had some realy good advice. I have never tried fishing for black fish so i did a bit of research went mostly on this site, brought the floats and hooks had the rod and went out for the afternoon. Found a quite spot on the central coast, got some weed from the rocks it took half an hour before i cought my first black fish around 37cm. Second was 43cm and the 3rd was 41cm and all nice and fat. Been 2-3 times since and always had luck catching them I think due to the good advice that people have posted it increased my chances alot. So thank you all who have posted about tips it's saved me a year on trial and error.

Well done, Stillchasing on your successful first blackie outings! Boy, that 43cm would have 'gone'! Watch out tho, it DOES become a bit 'addictive'!! I grabbed some weed myself yesterday & may just have to go out & give it a go too! :biggrin2:

Cheers

Well done Pilchard!

When I first started fishing for blackfish back in the very early 1970's it took me many trips before I caught my first fish.

You've done really well....but, be careful, it can become addictive!

Good on ya stillchasing.....nice to see you've turned to the dark side hahahahahahah  .

As you said, you can learn heaps about blackfishing from this fantastic site. Thats the special thing about Fishraider, there is ALWAYS someone ready to help out and point you in the right direction.

And dont listen to what other people say......its not addictive.......I've been chasing blackies since I was a teenager and I can give up anytime I like, I just haven't found the right time yet :wacko::wacko: !!!

You've only got to start worrying when you close your eyes in bed at night and you see you float dart under!!!.......or does that only happen to me???? :insane:

Cheers,

Smitty...

ADDICTIVE YES i spent 7 years straight chasing nothing else but the blackies we are very lucky to have a fishery were we can get fish on just about every outing and cook up a feed of crumbed blackfish or blackfish fillets dusted in flour dipped in egg then tossed in to coarse parmasan cheese. Well done succeeding on your first outing.
