Hi Guys,

Anyone been out to Clifton Gardens Wharf lately I am thinking of heading out there on the weekend.

Has anyone been there lately? Wonder if any good catches happening out there?

I haven’t been there in about 2 years? Is the wharf the same after the repairs?

Hey Mate,

Went there last Saturday and came up with nothing. Fished there at high tide (6pm) and packed up at 10:30pm. There was a heap of people there but no one was really catching anything. I was using pillies, prawns, live yakkas and some squid. I had no luck at all. I only had nibbles from some small snappers.

My mate who stayed behind did catch a small Shovel Nose Shark.

In saying that, another one of my mates went there a few weeks ago and caught a small Kingie off the wharf...must have been a one-off

Clifton gardens is one of the best if not the best wharf to fish from, its big, its near the heads, and lots of fish go cruising past looking for and rounding up bait!. The key is to catch your bait there and fish early! And have a long handled net or gaff. Weekends in the afternoon is like pitt street.
