reeseman Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Hey raiders, Im new to the fly fishing world and i decided that tying my own flies would be fun. i was wondering if i could get a few opinions to see if any of these would work. I am aiming mostly at saltwater species, bream, whiting and flat head. Also the second pic is my attempts at tying a smaller version of pink things.
reeseman Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 Here is a couple of better shots i think. I'm going to use these around nelson bay from the shore.
jasper Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Hi mate, Nice flies if your at the break wall and the bonito turn up I would be tossing one of the pink flies at them. Also try them at dutchies on a hide tide where bream maybe feeding on the surface Good luck Cheers
reeseman Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 Thanks for the reply and the advice mate I'll try them out. I cast up and down the shore at taylors beach for a few hours but with no success, my casting improved heaps too. I was having fun just watching the loops fly off the end of the rod. My presentation land is pretty disgusting though

arpie Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Well done Reeseman! Those should definitely catch a range of fish - bream, whiting, flatties, - pretty well anything you toss them to! I may just have to try & tie some myself!! Roberta

taloyoak Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 Mate are you pulling our legs????. Those flies look really well done- LOL, you should also post the one's that got away... Nice clousers and things. You should change your name to Muz Wilson or Felty!. Excellent flies- keep up the good work!
reeseman Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Hahaha cheers nanook I'd like to learn from muz Wilson one day. To be honest I just looked at a few flies I've seen before and tried to keep the general shape but change colours a bit. I've seen heaps for sale on online shop I didn't think they were that great to be honest. I'll b over the moon once I get something.
