Robofish Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Hi Raiders, I am spending next weekend on Lake Macquarie and will definately be getting some fishing in. I am staying near Pulbah Island and will have a boat - can anyone give me some advice on where to fish/tactics/baits pls?
Robofish Posted February 6, 2011 Author Posted February 6, 2011 Not sure what's there - i think flathead or bream? is there anything in there to troll for?
Catchin Jack Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 There's fish around in lake but not really specific spots to target them regularly, you'll have to sound it out and move around until you get hits. The lake is great if you strike it lucky but can be unlucky for some, only catching undersized all day. Look around Pulbah.

If you like to flick then try around the islands near there. Marks point drop off is where the channel opens in to the lake. I have heard of king fish been caught at Swansea bridge. The channel drifts well for flatties.
swanny Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 bigger kings in the lake! bridge gets to much boat traffic and they spook...when your fishing the bridge there isnt much courtesy
orca Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 try unweighted bread on shallow drop offs. catch monster bream. works a treat.
