finin Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Decided to take the boat for a run today, left rosebay around 630am and cruised down to the bridge and back for something to do, noticed alot of fish busting up but nowhere near the amounts crissy time. Decided to troll from the turning buoy 2 the heads dropped out a 4 inch mack bait and a rapala deep diver and continued to OMH and followed north head out, turned towards bondi and got a hit on the mack bait just as we crossed the middle of the heads, rod was singing and my spastic m8 just looks at it, needless to say by the time he picked it up we had dropped the fish . Any way greeted by a sw wind at about 10kn and swell to 2M dead sth bit choppy and shitey. Fished around bondi for a couple of mowies and plenty of little flatties, water is a nice blue colour and varied all day between 23.1-23.9. Very slow day so moved up to Diamond Bay and quickly landed 2 salmon 1 x 2.5 the other 3kg. Few more mowies and a nice 6 spine moved towards the heads and pulled up a gurnyard and a snapper going 50cm. By this time wind had dropped swell cleaned up and it finished a nice day, swell picked up greatly after the high tide by 100.pm some of the sets were up to 5m and very clean. All in all a good day out, bit of bird life in mutton birds and a couple of seals.
