Hey guy, I went into a fishing shop and they didn't have cages to catch crab. Does anyone know where I can buy them and secondly, should I leave them set near a wharf or nonluck there? Thanks

Most tackle stores will have the hoop-style nets.

Around $6 each.

You can use five of these per licenced fisherman.

A trap that is suited for mud crabs will be around $30.00 You can only use one of these and no hoop nets at the same time.

You'll catch blue swimmers and mud crabs in the hoop nets. But you wont catch a blue swimmer in a mud crab trap. You do get some bloody big eels in them though.

Buy them from someone reputable who can help you out, you don't want to get caught with an illegal style trap.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I will go to the stores listed and try get some, much appreciated

Hi Big G, just in case you haven't got one yet. I have a crab net bought a couple of years ago but only used once, still look like new. You can come and pick it up for free. I am in Hurstville, btw.
