Vertical Metal Jigs

Hi Experts,

I have couple of 60g Metal Jigs and was wondering If I could use these jigs a bit differently.

I mainly use these from the shore by attaching hanging single hook on top of the split ring. I let it sink all the way to the bottom before I start jigging.

There are two rings on this jig, one at the top and one at the bottom. What is the purpose of the bottom ring? Can I attach a tri hook and spin it?

What would be the most ideal lure for large bonitos, samson fish?! I do have a large green Rapala X-rap lure but not sure whether it will work

Jamesy,

No problem attaching a treble (or a strong single) at the end and spinning with it.

BTW when you attach the hanging style hook to the top of the jig instead of attaching it directly to the split ring, attach it to a solid ring first. That way the hook isnt pulling directly on the split ring where it may chafe and break or somehow manage to work it self through the split ring.
