finin Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 Well hit the water around 6.00am. No wind on the harbour, then the NE kicked up about 630am. Harbour was beautiful this morning and was amazed to see plenty of little boats out, bit of a change from the last couple of weeks. They all must have been chasing kings as most of the marks had several boats around them. Dropped the lures in at the sound in the hope of a bonnie or whatever and headed to the heads. Rod goes off just as we pass the heads and up comes a nice 800g bonnie. Kept the lures in and as we passed manly in 40m rod goes off again and a bit of a better struggle for a little stripey. All fish caught on the 4inch mack bait again, rapala didnt get a hit. Pulled the lures and headed to wide of long reef. Hopefully the fishing is going to be better than it has been for the last 3 weeks. Water is 23.7deg and a beautiful blue and very clean, current is heading downhill and not as strong as its been in the last few weeks also probably around 1/2kn. Guys and girls the rods didnt stop bending all day, between the three of us around 60+ fish were bought on board with 45 going back to fight another day! Finally got a nice feed of marble flatties and kept a nice 65cm bluespot, also a nice mix of decent size nannys, cracker mowies, and 2 huge red rock cod and a nice mix of jackets. headed home around 230pm, rescued two yachties whose small 12ft yacht had literally snapped in half at the mast? Then 15minutes later another accident on the harbour, another yacht tried to take on the Narrabeen and lost? Will probably be on the news tonight. All in all an awesome day cant wait till tomoz to go again!
dunc333 Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 nice report i hope i can go as good as you tomorrow
pstern Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 That’s typical of yachties. Davo Not quite sure what you mean there. Finin did a great thing - he rescued a mariner in distress. He then reported an incident involving a yacht and a ferry. Who knows how the incident occurred. There are quite a few yacht owners who are fishraiders. We all look out for each other. Perhaps you could be a little more careful in your posts. Peter
