Ken A
I went around Monash St this afternoon for a quick session in between visitor commitments & the effort was made well worthwhile When I got to the ridge there was a crab pot right in the prime area making fishing difficult so after a bit of cursing & swearing & dropping one fish I moved down a bit & nailed a nice fish of 36cm. There was a bit of weed about making life hard so just before leaving I had another dash at the ridge. On my second cast the lure got smacked hard & after several long runs in the current up came a magnificent big Bream. I swum her into to an exposed bit of sand & got the tape out & it went exactly 45cm to the fork equalling my PB Bream here A quick lift on some scales & it went 1.7 kilos No pictures unfortunately as neither me or Bob had a camera Still that's life I released the big Mumma to whatever big Bream do at night & came home for a quick cold beer The fish took ................................yep you guessed it the mighty Ecogear SX-40 -
Ken A
Yeh it was a nice fish & very heavy for the length as it was chocka full of roe. Its a damn good sign seeing big fish this early in the season. Thats 2 well over 40 fish hooked in 2 weeks at the start so maybe I'll crack that 50cm mark yet Keep my damn legs out of the way next time
Pukka
Fantastic bream Ken, 45cm to the fork is an absolute STONKER of a bream! Joe P.S. Another 11cm to the record??? Did I miss a 56cm fork bream somewhere!
Hookem_Herby
Fantastic work Ken!! The big girls are on the move by the looks of things ... the moon and the better tides should keep producing some good quality fish for a while anyway. Bring on that Fishraider social day Congrats mate .. that's a beauty for up here. Herby
