cut_loose Posted February 19, 2011 Posted February 19, 2011 (edited) Hey fellas Looking at getting a Shimano Saragosa 8000, any feedback on the reel? I heard there good and tough for there price. Will be matching it up to a T-Curve or Monster Mash jig stick and 30-40lb braid, main use will be jigging, with the odd bit of live baiting. Cheers Edited February 19, 2011 by cut_loose
gretsch Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 My mate, The Elk, has a Saragosa as does Winkley and they regularly catch Kings with them. They are good bang for you buck!! T Curve, not good.
wucc Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I am also considering the Gossa 8000 to put on a St Croix Mojo 10' spin outfit. Interested in the replies as I am tossing it up against the Daiwa Saltist 4500. Brownie.
Little Hooker Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I would purely go for the gossa over the saltist because of the 1yr warranty from daiwa.
Catchin Jack Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Have you checked out the Abu Soron STX70? I have mine loaded up with 40lb braid and it handles it with ease. They're a great reel and cheaper than others mentioned. Check them out at our sponsors website...Purefishing.
steze Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I own the 14000 Saragoose. Its served me well before I upgraded to a Saltiga
