tonez Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 (edited) Hi All This is my first report, hopefully many more to come. Hit the harbour for an afternoon session on friday 18 Feb with a couple of mates. Went out from rose bay and didnt have to move very far at all. The salmon and bonnies were busting up the surface all around shark island. The birds were in on the action as well. Armed with a few Rapalla and Halco hardbodies and some SPs, we used the wind to drift to them and within about an hour, we had landed 2 salmon over 65cm (lost a third at the boat) and 4 bonnies over 40cm. (There is a also a fish in the harbour somewhere with my Rapala X Rap attached to it - blue in colour - which was taken due to my dodgy knot. If you find it, pls let me know LOL). The SPs didnt do too well as the salmon kept biting off the tails. Once the commotion slowed down, we bottom bashed for a while looking for some snapper, and managed one 30cm specimen among 30 or 40 squire and one 25 cm bream. A great day out nonetheless and my mates (who have never fished with lures before) were stoked. Sashimi for dinner with a couple of beers. Cheers Tonez Edited February 21, 2011 by tonez
