just interested to know if any ones fished off the beach at merries reef from land what to expect to catch and what bait were they using cheers

It is not very productive from memory they get a few whiting and flatties using worms and pippis. The main beach to the south is more productive, though when there a big southerly blow and all else is just about wiped out the beach at boat harbour turns it on for bream, snapper and a few luderick as they shelter in there from the swell as it is protected by the Merries Reef system.

Im out there very often and see quiet a few guys catching plenty of bream,tarwine,flathead and whiting of late.If you fish where the rocks meet the beach on a incoming tide you will find plenty of action as I do a lot of free diving out there and see nice schools of fish there.
