Barramundi fishing

Rex and myself are moving to the Northern territory in about a week and unfortunately the only thing to do in our new back yard is to go barra fishing.

Unfortunately this means that I will now have to buy a new rod and reel outfit and was hoping that someone could give me some ideas.

Sorry to be a bit off topic but i've gotta say you lucky buggers...you're living my dream.

But back to it i've got a daiwa excellor loaded with 20lb braid and can't even tell you the rod its on (other than its a shimano about 6-10kg sorry its at a mates place so i can't give you any other details) but its caught me plenty of average barra amongst some other good fish when i get the chance to head north to visit family in townsville

i have 2 outfits, one is a shimano calcutta 400b spooled with 50lb spider wire braid on a loomis crankbait rod (cant remember weight) and the other is a shimano symeter spooled with 20lb braid on a 6-8kg rod.
