Finally got a chance to drop the lures in yesterday. Left Sydney around 6am and headed towards the sun! What an awesome morning, swell at.5-1m if that direct from the east and a light norwester, dropped the lures in at 100m. Tried a whole new spread of poloukais and and am amazed at their movement. Travelled for over 60nm without a show. Gradually the day got better with little to no wind and a glassed off surface. At around 100pm a huge fish jumps 6 times behind the boat about 200m back, slowly we turned the boat back and retraced our steps after working the area for a while we had no luck. As we headed for home a small stripey inspected the caveman in lumo but to no avail. Water was very blue inside the 12mile and became increasingly greener as you went wider. Actually the water looked lifeless for such a good day. Temps were very weird, ranging from 23.1 - 25 and patches of it everywhere temps were up and down all day.

We fished yesterday from Botany. Water was mid 23 degrees and green in close before turning blueish around 75-80fm and decent colour past the shelf and up to 25 degrees. Only one striped tuna all day and bait was sparse and deep. Did manage to raise a fish around 4.30 that ripped of a bit of line but no hookup. Didn't get a great look but what we did see it looked like it may have been a Blue. No current but weather was perfect and just felt like if the current picks up and a bit of bait it could all come together. Weather this weekend should see plenty of boats out more water covered so will be interesting to hear.

Fished Wednesday also out of Botany. Water was blue in close temp 23.2, however by the time we hit the FAD the water had turned green, temp was 22. Only small dolphin fish taking both livies and half pillies. No sign of birds anywhere and nothing at the peak. Action was way to slow for such a good weather day.
