Parto Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 Hey mate, Harrington is a great place.. Friendly fishing village. I've spent many holidays up there and always had a relaxing time and brought home good catches.. Crowdy head has an easy launch boat ramp with full facilities.. With a 6m boat you'll have no problems getting out to the deeper reefs for some big snapper and kings around mermaid reef up north and old bar down south. The river has plenty of fish such as flathead and huge jewfish around the break wall and nice swimming spots. If you have a 4wd there's good tracks and camping spots to explore around crowdy national park. The bowling clubs good for a tasty meal and Harrington pubs even better for a cold one Hope this helps Cheers Matt
Brian Posted March 18, 2011 Posted March 18, 2011 (edited) Geez Matt, You sound alike a tour guide, you've sold me. Might head that way myself some time too. Is there a river bar to cross to get outside? BP. Edited March 18, 2011 by Brian
Parto Posted March 19, 2011 Posted March 19, 2011 ha no its just one of those hidden gems that people overlook.. im keen to get back up there myself over the next few weeks. the boat ramp at crowdy head is about a 10 min drive from the centre of harrington and would have to be one of the safest boat ramps on the north coast set inside a small trawler base harbour and less than 100 metres your in open sea. cheers
