cut_loose Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Going to the Hawkesbury tomorrow The target will be Bream & Flatties and the hope of a jew, even if it's small I have live poddys, do you think my best bet fishing in the river itself is 6lb line, 6lb fluro leader, and 2/0 hooks, suicide or circle ? Thinking of 20lb at Flint and Steel with 14lb leader ? might have live yellowtail there .. Thanks

Thinking of 20lb at Flint and Steel with 14lb leader ? might have live yellowtail there .. Thanks Why would you go 20lb and only 14lb leader? The leader is what will be closest to the fish, its jaws, its fins, rocks and submerged objects. I'd go 20lb with 30-40lb leader for livebaiting jew if i were you. Also 6lb for livebaiting is pointless in my opinion. You have every chance at hooking a 1m plus flathead, a 20kg jew, a shark or even a big ray... 6lb will be like a spiderweb to a large fish which is what you will be targetting and most likely get while live baiting. Good luck anyway, Hope you do get a big one! Musty
