Shaggytrevally Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Boat is in for service, desperate for a fish took the young bloke down to woronora for a fish. Not really expecting much as we were using plastics on the low tide just as it was about to turn and come in. Anyway my son was changing his lures on his own until finally he decided on a lure we got from the daily telegraph ages ago. I throw it out past the rocks so he would not get a snag.He starts to reel it in then goes I'm on!! Im like no you have a snag. then noticed the tip of the rod bouncing it was a fish bring her in i said. Nice flatty for dinner and very proud boy couldn't wait to tell his mum.
Mr.KingSpooled Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Ah well done to the lil fella, hope he enjoyed his fish
Get The Net Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 How goods that, I bet he will still remember that cast when he's older.
Keflapod Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 hey Shaggytrevally, Love your work. Now your son will be hassling you on Monday as to when you're taking him fishing next. "Is it Saturday yet?" "Is it Saturday yet?" "Is it Saturday yet?" "Is it Saturday yet?" "Is it Saturday yet?" ...so he can catch another fish while you watch.... I did the same to MY dad, but my son isn't doing the same to me.... Oh well, I think my daughter is about to do it so looks like a pink rod'n'reel for her birthday is in order.... Tony
snappyemmy Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Always good to see the little ones having fun & bringing home dinner!
eholdn Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 rippa, Only discusing the other day if the lures that the papers give away ever actually worked. It is now fact !! Good stuff on the catch. Cheers Pete.
snag Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Good on you young fellow show the old man how it's done.
idolz Posted April 10, 2011 Posted April 10, 2011 I still got my Daily telegraph lure in its packet,,,,,its sitting on the shelf in my office,,, I often look at as I walk in and wonder if it could actually catch a fish.......
Breambo22 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 The Sunday Telegraph lures are great! I caught a 2kg flathead in Berowra Waters in January with one of them and today caught a 50cm flathead with the same lure before the tail got chewed off. If they repeat the offer I think I will get a couple of those soft plastics.
