fishmaniac
I had the day off uni on friday so decided to make a day of it on the harbour. Had a late start but had the live bait tank filled with yakkas in short time. I then bumped into a mate of mine and he had just landed a king in the 90cm bracket. I downrigged the area for about 40mins and between the two of us only a few more rats were landed. I then collected 3 squid and decided to have a look at some inshore reefs. I didn't mark any fish but decided to fish a few livies anyways unfortunately to no avial. I then went to the colours where I landed a monster salmon. It was probably the biggest i have caught, a really thick and healthy fish which i would estimate to be close to 4kg!!! I returned to the harbour and fished a few more marks to land a 72cm king and 40cm bream on the last stop. A nice way to the end the day to a great sydney sunset! Today I hit the water late morning and headed wide with my brother and another mate. We went out past the fads and picked up a few rat dollies. They were my brother's first so he was pretty happy. We set a spread and picked up a few stripies (another first for my brother), one of which was quickly bridled and sent out. Something had a go at my livie but it was not too decisive. The stripie went nutso and a huge spash followd but nothing else came from it (although the stripie was a bit worst for wear). Having recently got the 450 topender this was my first half ditched effort to go for a marlin. I suppose I just have to put in the time and hopefully my lucky day will come!!!
