pjbink
Interesting answer.... Not the context I was thinking though. Another thought is that it may not be a good idea running dry if you have multiple carbies. Though most of these larger engines are oil injected - which rules the pratice out. Guest Aussie007
2 Stroke outboards Lubrication + installing electric start Another thought is that it may not be a good idea running dry if you have multiple carbies. Though most of these larger engines are oil injected - which rules the pratice out. i dont think his pull starting a 300hp engine i never run my engines dry u have two options run the engine dry keep the carbies in mint condition and trash your top end and possibly your crankshaft journals and bearings or treat your carby in average condition and treat the top end and bottom end wellclean carby $15 for a can of carby cleaner 30mins each carb bad bore needing sleves? BIG $$$$ scratched crankshaft journals? thousands of dollars! both combined? = total loss
rockfisherman
LOL @ pull starting 300 hp motor... The pull cord would be 10 mm rope and would need 3 people to start it *giggling to myself*
