BOTANY BAY - MONDAY - ACTIVE ONCE AGAIN

Headed out with big Kev once again on an early start this time and try to get some good fishing in before the big change. Water was slight inside with the winds from the SW around 10 notts. Anchored up and started burley trail for some live bait and within no time we had a tank full of Yellow Tail. Headed out to the normal spots in search of those bruising Kings but was realy quiet early so we headed outside. The swells weren't pleasant as they were around 1 to 2 mrt mark but we braved it out. Drifed a few baits out from Yellow Rock and we struggled in getting a decent fish but we did manage 2 keeper Snapper going 35cm. It was around midday wh when we decided to head back in and give the bay another shot as the winds became stronger and gusts up around the 20 to 25 notts at times and we found some shelter at Mol/point. We anchored East side of the breakwall and decided to stay put for the next 4 hours and it paid off at the end :biggrin2: We had a run of Big Salmon 55 to 70cm, 3 Kingfish 62 63 released and keeper 65cm, and 1 Trevally  . All fish were caught in a few hours on Squid but the Botany Bay South Wester blowing upto 25 to 30 notts now and the swells of 1 mtr + was just becoming unbarable so we headed home minus the anchor :ranting2: So anyone anchoring up near the point you might just find you maybe pulling up a reef anchor with a heap of chain :biggrin2: All in all a great afternoon untill the wind showed up. Tight Lines :1fishing1:
